Recently, SUOER’s cross-departmental team stepped out of the office and joined a dynamic series of competition activities hosted by Alibaba, turning it into a memorable team building experience. Designed to enhance cross-departmental collaboration, spark innovative thinking, and align with the digital development trends of the renewable energy industry, this event brought together 50+ employees from R&D, sales, marketing, and international business departments. As a leading manufacturer of solar energy storage systems (including inverters, chargers, and controllers), SUOER has long maintained in-depth cooperation with Alibaba in global channel expansion, and this competition further strengthened the synergy between the team and deepened the understanding of digital business strategies.
The event kicked off with a grand opening ceremony, where the Alibaba organizing team elaborated on the competition’s theme—“Innovation-Driven, Win-Win Cooperation”—and introduced the challenges, which included cross-border e-commerce operation simulations, renewable energy product marketing plan competitions, and team strategy challenge games. The SUOER team was divided into 6 mixed squads, each named after the company’s core values such as “Innovation Pioneers,” “Global Collaborators,” and “Quality Guardians,” to compete with teams from other outstanding enterprises in the industry.
The most anticipated part was the renewable energy product marketing plan competition. Each team needed to design a targeted cross-border promotion plan for solar energy storage products based on real market data provided by Alibaba. The SUOER “Global Collaborators” squad, consisting of sales, marketing, and R&D members, fully leveraged their professional advantages: R&D personnel explained the technical highlights of SUOER’s latest inverters and controllers (such as high efficiency, stability in extreme climates, and smart monitoring functions); sales staff shared insights into market demands in North America, Europe, and the Middle East; marketing personnel integrated Alibaba’s digital marketing tools to design precise promotion strategies. During the preparation process, team members held intense discussions day and night, adjusted the plan repeatedly based on feedback, and even simulated customer consultations to optimize the presentation details.
Another exciting challenge was the cross-border e-commerce operation simulation. Participants needed to complete store operation, order processing, and after-sales service simulation tasks within a limited time. This challenge let the SUOER team deeply experience the efficiency of Alibaba’s digital supply chain system, and also found areas for improvement in the company’s existing cross-border operation process. “Through this simulation, I realized the importance of close collaboration between the sales and logistics teams,” said a marketing team member. “In the future, we can optimize the connection between product promotion and order fulfillment to improve customer satisfaction.”
During the team strategy challenge games, the SUOER team showed excellent cohesion and coordination. In the “Strategy Chess” and “Speed Collaboration” games, team members encouraged each other, adjusted strategies in real time, and overcame difficulties together. Even when facing strong opponents, they maintained a positive attitude and fought hard until the end. This spirit of unity and perseverance also won praise from the organizing team and other participating enterprises.
At the closing ceremony, the SUOER “Global Collaborators” squad won the “Excellent Marketing Plan Award” for their professional and innovative solar energy storage product promotion plan. While celebrating the victory, the team gained more valuable experiences than awards. “This competition is not only a contest of professional ability, but also a test of team collaboration,” said the team leader. “It let us see the strengths of colleagues in different departments and laid a better foundation for future cross-departmental projects.”
This team building event through participating in Alibaba competition activities is an important practice for SUOER to promote team building and digital transformation. It not only relaxed the team’s mood and strengthened the sense of unity, but also helped the team absorb advanced digital operation concepts and industry experience. As SUOER continues to expand its global market, the team will carry the spirit of innovation, collaboration and perseverance gained from this event into their work, continuously optimize products and services, and create greater value for global customers with high-quality solar energy storage solutions.
Looking ahead, SUOER will continue to carry out diverse team building activities, strengthen cooperation with excellent platforms such as Alibaba, and build a more united, professional and innovative team to contribute to the development of the global renewable energy industry.
